Bryce’s Fight
It has been months since my last post for various reasons. Today marks the beginning of Bryce’s Fight. She lives by the motto: “When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry . . . show it Thousands of Reasons to Smile. : )
Bryce Alaniz is one of my nieces. My brother is blessed with 4 girls: 2 are older than Bryce and one is younger. Three months ago Bryce began her journey to find out why she was having major headaches that would not go away.
She has a “mass” on the back of her neck at the base of her skull, and a biopsy was needed to find out what was actually there.
After months of appointments and numerous biopsies, her diagnosis came back: Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and the location makes it inoperable. Since her diagnosis, Bryce was let go from her job.
My brother and his family decided to get a second opinion and traveled to MD Anderson in Houston, TX. After a week of appointments with numerous specialists, a treatment plan was developed. Today, August 14th, Bryce and her mother travel back to MD Anderson to begin the treatment protocol.
To help relieve some of the financial stress on Bryce, my brother and his family, we launched a fund raising page through YouCaring, Compassionate Fund Raising. This allows Bryce to focus on fighting the cancer without the worry of the expenses.
If you can afford $1, $5, $20 – whatever amount, please make a donation – nothing is too small!!
If you can’t, please keep Bryce in your prayers – she is strong and will BEAT CANCER!!!
Thank you for your help and God bless you.
